Solo
Solitude is Stuart McCallum's ongoing solo guitar project, an ever-evolving body of work that explores the meeting point of jazz, folk, ambient music and electronica. Moving fluidly between composition and improvisation, the project places melody at its centre while expanding the sonic possibilities of the guitar through looping, texture, space and atmosphere.
Across a growing catalogue of recordings and performances, McCallum moves from intimate solo acoustic pieces to richly layered soundscapes, incorporating contemporary folk interpretations of jazz standards, immersive audio environments, and collaborative explorations with generative music systems.
Each acoustic performance unfolds as a unique journey, balancing delicacy and scale, spontaneity and intention, while remaining rooted in a distinctive and deeply personal musical voice.
'Master guitarist McCallum's music is heaven sent. Beautifully crafted, warm blooded, folk and jazz inspired magical stuff....'
